Nominations for the 83rd Annual Academy Awards are out, and the full rundown is below. (Bolded, orange entries are those films picked recently by the Washington Area Film Critics Association. Just as a reminder.)
Alongside the Academy Awards nominations for best films of the year comes the 2010 Razzies, recognizing the worst films. Not exactly a lot of surprises here, but I’m oh-so glad Sex and the City 2 made the list.
Captain America: The First Avenger isn’t due out ’til the end of July but Marvel continues to tease. This time with a couple new, high-res photos of Chris Evans in full patriot gear.

Marvel goes for the dramatic in the first official one-sheet for Thor (May 2011). The first “real” trailer is supposedly to follow this weekend, despite the Comic-Con preview being around for some time. I can hear the marketing machine beginning to turn!

The plague of shitty DC traffic has officially infected the local filming of Transformers 3: The Dark of the Moon as yesterday yellow Camaro known as Bumblebee in the film t-boned a police SUV responding to an emergency call. Apparently that cop was the only person who wasn’t aware of the filming and felt it prudent to bypass their own department’s barricades. Local reports indicate that the officer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, though it looks like the Autobot took most of the damage. Welcome to DC!
