Brought to us by Zack Snyder, director of Watchmen and 300, the film surrounds the mental war waged in Babydoll’s (Emily Browning) mind against the mental institution to which she’s been committed. Presumably, her fellow locked-up ladies join her in an imaginative struggle that seems to span all manner of time and environment. Can’t wait for this one.

Six years ago previously, a NASA probe returning to earth with samples of an alien life form, crashed over Central America. Soon after, new life forms began to appear, and half of Mexico was quarantined as an INFECTED ZONE. Today, the American and Mexican military still struggle to contain “the creatures”… The story begins when a US journalist agrees to escort a shaken American tourist through the infected zone in Mexico to the safety of the US border.

Dame cougar Helen Mirren must have a thing for playing retired ass-kickers. Earlier this week we glimpsed her in the first trailer for The Debt as an ex-agent of the Israeli Moussad. And now we see her in Red in a similar, but albeit campy role, alongside veterans Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman and John Malcovich. This looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun.

Frank (Bruce Willis), Joe (Morgan Freeman), Marvin (John Malkovich) and Victoria (Helen Mirren) used to be the CIA’s top agents – but the secrets they know just made them the Agency’s top targets. Now framed for assassination, they must use all of their collective cunning, experience and teamwork to stay one step ahead of their deadly pursuers and stay alive. To stop the operation, the team embarks on an impossible, cross-country mission to break into the top-secret CIA headquarters, where they will uncover one of the biggest conspiracies and cover-ups in government history.

Son of a bitch this is looking good. The new trailer for Tron Legacy out of Comic-Con reveals a bit more of the plot and characters, and makes one even more impatient for the film’s December 2010 release.

“Tron Legacy is a 3D high-tech adventure set in a digital world that’s unlike anything ever captured on the big screen. Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), looks into his father’s disappearance and finds himself pulled into the same world of fierce programs and gladiatorial games where his father has been living for 25 years. Along with Kevin’s loyal confidant (Olivia Wilde), father and son embark on a life-and-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous.”

We first saw a teaser trailer for Christopher Nolan‘s upcoming film, Inception, late last year.
And for those just joining us, the plot goes like this:

Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a skilled thief, the absolute best in the dangerous art of extraction, stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state, when the mind is at its most vulnerable. Cobb’s rare ability has made him a coveted player in this treacherous new world of corporate espionage, but it has also made him an international fugitive and cost him everything he has ever loved. Now Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption. One last job could give him his life back but only if he can accomplish the impossible—inception. Instead of the perfect heist, Cobb and his team of specialists have to pull off the reverse: their task is not to steal an idea but to plant one. If they succeed, it could be the perfect crime. But no amount of careful planning or expertise can prepare the team for the dangerous enemy that seems to predict their every move. An enemy that only Cobb could have seen coming.

A trailer for J.J.
From what we can tell so far, the film looks to surround Area 51 in the late ’70s. Apparently, “It” doesn’t have many fans and is quite strong (and probably pissed). Just your run-of-the-mill super alien, maybe? Given the film’s title and this early footage, Super 8 seems to also center on some kind of secret tape…of something. Let the speculation and viral this-and-that commence! Nerds can study the trailer frame-by-frame by downloading the HD version at Apple.
