The Last Airbender Trailer

"Some will stop at nothing to destroy you."
M. Night Shyamalan directing The Last Airbender might reflexively turn some off to the film (ahem…The Happening); but rest assured, he’s working with existing material and not crafting his own tale, which has been his default approach in the past.
And from the looks of this first full-length trailer for Airbender that might be the better approach. Interestingly, the original storyline was called “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” but I guess James Cameron’s film sufficiently claimed that term for all eternity.
The plot goes like this:
Air, Water, Earth, Fire. Four nations tied by destiny when the Fire Nation launches a brutal war against the others. A century has passed with no hope in sight to change the path of this… Air, Water, Earth, Fire. Four nations tied by destiny when the Fire Nation launches a brutal war against the others. A century has passed with no hope in sight to change the path of this destruction. Caught between combat and courage, Aang (Noah Ringer) discovers he is the lone Avatar with the power to manipulate all four elements. Aang teams with Katara (Nicola Peltz), a Waterbender, and her brother, Sokka (Jackson Rathbone), to restore balance to their war-torn world. Based on the hugely successful Nickelodeon animated TV series, the live-action feature film The Last Airbender is the opening chapter in Aang’s struggle to survive.
