"Gay, gay, gay, gay, gay"

I’ve been waiting for a glimpse at this movie for some time. Despite making successful rounds at various film festivals, it started to look like American audiences wouldn’t get to see Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor get it on in I Love You Phillip Morris — a film that is partially based on at true story. But thanks to Consolidated Pictures Group (back in May), it looks like we can settle in for more of the same ole arguments as the film’s 2010 release date approaches.

While the film is definitely gay-centric, I Love You Phillip Morris presents the topic in a bit of a different light. Carrey’s character turns gay as a result of a car accident, and supports his new flamboyant lifestyle through cons? I doubt the film will be anywhere near the storytelling of Brokeback Mountain, but it does look like a pretty good time. And it’s always nice to see McGregor. (The trailer is actually from the French distributor, since domestic marketing is a bit behind.)
