Tim and I continue to tighten up and enhance Popscorn — you’d be amazed how far the site has come in a relatively short amount of time — and to that end, we’ve started a new segment we’re calling the ‘Salty Assortment’. Popscorn is never going to be a movie news pure-play, but there are certainly things we’d like to comment on or share outside of film critiques. Take for instance, the press conference I attended with Michael Bay last night. Pretty damn cool, and certainly worth sharing.

In the spirit expanding our conversation with you and keeping true to the focus of Popscorn, we’re also using a new and very cool service called Posterous to power this new section. In a nutshell, Posterous allows us to quickly post items of interest without a lot of effort. Most of the items you’ll find in our Salty Assortment, therefore, will be clips and short blurbs, along with the occasional extended commentary. Just another way for us to noodle in the negative.
